Available in my store when I'm accepting orders --> The Darling Army Store

Want to know when I'll be accepting pinafore orders again? Get updates on my Facebook! This is the best way to find out when I'll be taking orders (about once a week), especially since my spots fillup within a couple hours of posting them. --> The Darling Army Facebook

Soooo....I can't seem to stop makind Doctor Who pinafores. I promis, this will be the last one until I'm commissioned to do another! I just wanted to see what it looked like with a solid color and happened to be cutting red fabric at the time. =)

Which do you prefer? Bronze or red? A different color, perhaps?

Vision: 4/5

 has a really good point. The texture you used for the Bronze-Dalek Pinafor was more vintage. I think if you applied that pattern with other colors you could make a really nice set. :-)

Originality: 5/5

I am always awed by people who are smart enough to make items like Daleks or Tardis' into clothing cosplays. I think you have a really great idea, and I can see your passion for the fandom and for your Artisan and Crafting.

Technique:4/5

My only recommendation would be to add lace at the bottom of the dress. It would give nice texture and add a bit more style to the piece. Other than that everything is done well.

Impact: 4/5

I will definitely say you have a great idea going here! Are you by chance working on commission? and would you be willing to create a pinafore for something that isn't Doctor Who?

Oo! Fancy! A proper critique!
I actually probably have the fewest pinafores from Doctor Who. lol. Most everything else is anime and gaming related. Lots and lots of anime. I've just been re-watching Doctor Who, so most of my new designs are heavily influenced from that. Otherwise, I do plenty of custom commissions that are usually anime or comic book based. ^_^ As for the patterned prints. I love them more than anything. My only problem is the cost. They can end up costing me $20 more per design in fabric as opposed to the solids. Unfortunately, solids are just more economical for me and for my customers. Most people have trouble paying for my pinafores as it is, without the added lace and patterns =( I do truly wish I could create to my hearts content without the money problem =)

But thanks for the in-depth response! I do like knowing how I'm doing in all respects ^_^ Ee! So fancy!

You're welcome! My attention was definitely caught up by the designs as you've done quite a few. :-)

I was actually wondering if you'd be willing to do Harry Potter designs? I was thinking that a Quibbler Pinafore would be cute or maybe a Marauder's Map?

Although, I don't know what those designs would entail, as I do know they are quite specific and at least with the Marauder's map it would require the use of frabric markers to create the map.

Hm. I've gone one Harry Potter commission, but it was just the Slytherin House robes. As for anything that requires me painting or drawing, I have zero artistic talent. Zero! lol. While they would be ridiculously adorable, my drawing skills would make it so terrible. Wobbley hands ;)

I see. Hm... What if I figured out a way to make a traceable design? That way I could post the design to be put on the pinafore and you could print it out and use tracing paper?

Hm. I could try it. My only concern is that the skirt is a complete circle, not a gathered skirt. So the tracing would be severely off once I reached the skirt

Unless the pattern was created in a perfect circle. That's the troublesome part

Bronze by far. I loved the vintage-y texture and pattern on it. I would have died for it'

Hehe. Yeah. I am attached to the quilting fabric for the bronze. I'm going to be sad and happy when I sell bronze Dalek >_<
