Hello! So you've gone to DarlingArmy.com, fall in love with a design, try to add an item to your cart, and...it does nothing. Everything you're interested in says Coming Soon. Why is that?

Here's what went wrong. Because everything is made to order by one person (me!), I only accept 20 orders at a time. What happens is that I will announce a time and a day that I will be accepting orders. This is usually one or two days before the actual acceptance date. On the appointed day, I will switch everything in the store to Available. During this time you will be able to add items to your cart and checkout like a normal website. When I reach 20 orders, I will switch everything back to Coming Soon Until I can accomodate more orders.

Orders tend to fill up in 2-6 hours once my store is open. This means the store is only opened for a couple hours once every week or so. You have to be quick to order.

How do I get one in time for Halloween?

I generally don't guarantee arrival dates since I'm pretty much at the whim of my supplies and machines (sometimes things get delayed or break), but for the most part, US buyers will have their pinafores 2-3 weeks after they order them. Construction time is generally 1-2 weeks and shipping is 2-3 days. Sometimes orders will be done and just waiting to be picked up by the postman who only comes out to my neck of the woods once a week for pickups.

As far as I can estimate, orders placed in August and September will definitely make it in time for Halloween (though you should order earlier if you need it for a costume party before the 31st). Anything placed in early October is likely, but I don't know my plans yet, so they can't be 100% guaranteed. Lat October is definitely a gamble.

My advice is to order as soon as possible. I only take 20 orders every 1-2 weeks and will be accepting limited orders less often through August and September since I have a lot of out-of-state wedding to attend in these two months.

How do I find out when you are accepting orders?

You have two options. The first is to keep an eye out on Facebook. I will always make a post as soon as I know the next date I will accept orders. This is usually 1-2 days ahead of time. I will also post as soon as the store is open and as soon as it closes. You may need to adjust your Facebook setting to allow all Darling Army posts to show up on your feed.

You also have the option of going to the Darling Army Store and signing up for my Newsletter. I will send this newsletter to announce when I will be accpeting orders. This way notifications are sent to your email and you won't have to check Facebook everyday in hopes of catching my posts.

What if I want a custom commission?
If you are interested in a custom character commission, you will be subject to the same waiting times as everyone else. Your commission will have to be purchased as one of the 20 orders that I accept, no exceptions.

For a custom commission, you'll need to send me a message with all of your commission request information as is outlined in the Commission Info section of the store. After I've approved your commission, I will make you a custom listing in the Commission section of the store. It will remain as Coming Soon until I am accepting 20 orders. At that point it will be switched to Available like all of the other products. If you do not purchase the commission quickly enough to be the first 20, your listing will switch to Coming Soon again. You'll have to wait until the next time I'm accepting to order.

For the above reason, it's very important to contact me with custom commission requests early so you can have a listing set up ahead of time.
