Hello and welcome! I’ve decided it’s about time that I hosted another art contest! The last one turned up so much talent. I would love to see more ^_^
CONTEST
The Darling Army wants you! It’s time to put your talent to create the adorable to the test and join the Darling Army! As someone who can’t draw or paint, I always admire those who can create beautiful things with a pen and paper (or tablet and screen XD). I would love to see how the Darling Army inspires you.
Here are some ideas of things I’ve seen in the past:
+ Your own cosplay pinafore, kimono dress, or skirt design
+ A character (ex. Goku, Matt Smith, Castiel, etc.) wearing a Darling Army design
+ Your own Darling Army mascot
HOW TO ENTER
First, create your original artwork! This can be a chalk painting, a sculpture, watercolor, sketch, copic marker, digital art, etc. If you are not working with a digital medium, please scan your art or take a very clean picture of it (but scans are recommended).
The contest will be held on deviantART, so you will need an account to submit artwork and enter. No worries though since it's free and fast to sign up. You can choose to abandon your account after you submit, or join the art community and stay awhile ^_^ Anywho, having the contest on deviantART will allow everyone to submit their artwork to the contest group I set up. It will also allow you and others to comment on all of the images in the gallery.

You're also going to need to SHARE this contest and will be asked to provide proof that you did so in the event that you win. You can share this via DeviantArt (even just a link in your gallery), twitter, Facebook, tumblr or any other media site you use. Sorry, but since I'm independent and not on any search engines (like Etsy or eBay) I need all of the exposure I can get XD
The absolute deadline is Monday, April 15th at 8PM. Winners will be announced on that Saturday (the 18th) and will be notified via email (if possible) and deviantART notes.
JUDGING
I will be the ultimate judge of the art contest, but I will take the comments and “favorites” of others into account. All images will be available for browsing on the contest page, but I will also feature some on my Facebook randomly. While technique and general skill will be taken into account, they are not necessary to win. Your unique ideas are just as valuable as your skills as an artist.
While I will need all submissions by Wednesday , April 15th at eight at night, I will begin browsing through submitted images as early as the time I receive them. If you want more feedback from your peers, you should send in your pieces earlier.
Please be aware that I am located in California and will therefore be using my time zone as reference.
PRIZES:
Grand Prize: $85 in Darling Army store credit and free shipping on one piece. You can choose a pinafore design that already exists, a custom commission, or a design that you create. If you want a pinafore priced above $85, you have the option of paying the difference at my next order acceptance date
Runner Up: $40 in Darling Army store credit. You can choose to spend this on accessories or pay the different for a cosplay design just like above.
Honorable Mention: Darling Army Bow. Can be one that exists or a custom one.
All winning and notable art will be posted on my DeviantArt, Tumblr, Facebook, Instagram, and the Darling Army Store along with credit and a link to your online art portfolio’s if provided. This should offer you a lot of exposure as I have roughly 20,000+ followers spread out over the interwebz.
RULES:
+ The scan/image/photograph must be submitted before or by the 15th of April
+ You must share the contest post via twitter, Facebook, DeviantArt, tumblr, etc.
+ You can submit multiple entries, but you can only win ONE prize (i.e. You can't win the grand prize and the runner up prize).
+You can certainly win and give the prize to a loved one if you have no need for a pinafore.
+ The contest is only valid if there are a minimum of 50 unique submissions from different people, so tell your friends! The more the merrier ^_^
